2026 Federal IDR Operations Final Rule

Changes finalized
The rule addresses payer disclosures, notices, eligibility review, batching, fees, withdrawals, extensions, and an IDR registry. It reduced the administrative fee to $15 per party for disputes initiated on or after June 11, 2026.

Specified remittance remark-code requirements apply to items and services furnished on or after January 1, 2027, according to the August 2026 implementation guide.
